Ballet has been a defining part of M’kenna’s life for as long as she can remember. Her inspired mother enrolled her in classes at the tender age of three and since then, her parents have supported
her ballet endeavors with so much love and support. Overtime, her passion for dance grew into a career.
At age 14, M’kenna found herself at her first dance teaching job. She finally had an answer to the question adults had been asking her. “What are you going to do with your life?” She knew that she wanted to teach dance. She taught at various studios around the Salt Lake area for the next 2 years including Linda Fenton School of Dance and American Expressions of Dance. Life took some unexpected turns, but after a short sebaticle from ballet she began teaching again at En Pointe School of Ballet, where she stayed for 5 years before moving to Moab. M'kenna has performed in, choreographed and directed the classical ballets Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, Coppelia and Cinderella.
M’kenna and her small family moved to Moab in June of the year 2017, 6 weeks after her son Easton was born. Her husband pushed her to pursue her love of teaching and with some tough love, she took a leap of faith and started her own studio. With a dedicated focus on technique and strengthening, M’kenna uses her passion for ballet as the core focus of her teaching and strives to cultivate a love of dance into the atmosphere of her studio.
